Freelancing work is on the rise

Freelancing work is on the rise .Due to the coronavirus situation, large organizations are leaning towards freelance work. Analysts say that demand for freelance jobs has increased as companies have become accustomed to virtual workplaces and offer home-based job opportunities. In order to reduce costs following the Covid-19 epidemic, many organizations will move from permanent staff to self-employed workers.

According to a report in the Economic Times, Flexing It, a freelance and project-based gig platform, the number of freelance job advertisements increased by 75% in April.HR Technology Service Provider People Strong predicts that 25-30 % of employees in different sectors, such as Internet Business, IT, ITES, start-ups, hospitality and fast-service restaurants, retail , logistics, will become self-employed.

Chandrika Pasricha, CEO of Flexing IT, said, "The demand for freelancers with qualified consultants, specialized strategies, technology and marketing skills has grown on our platform."

IT and IT service providers, pharmaceuticals, education , professional services, consultants and other organizations are now looking for more skilled workers in the freelance sector than ever before. As project-based work needs to be done, the demand for freelancers in organizations that reduce staff costs is growing.

It is also an advantage for the organization to recruit skilled workers on a project-specific basis. Staff are recruited from different regions and countries as required.

A study conducted by Flexing Brick found that the number of remote platform projects has doubled in the last 3-4 weeks since the Covid-19 outbreak. Between March and April, the number of professional freelancer registrations increased by 84%.This is probably due to the risk of job losses, changes in companies or professional workers seeking to create additional sources of income.
