NH10 is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language thriller movie directed by Navdeep Singh
and produced by Sudip Sharma. The stars are Anushka Sharma, Neil Bhoopalam,
Darshan Kumar, Deepti Naval and Ravi Jhankal. NH10 was developed jointly by
Blank Slate Films, Ghost Films, Eros International and was the development
debut of Sharma.It tells the story of a young couple whose road trip goes awry
after a meeting with a group of violent criminals. The title refers to
National Highway 10, which links Delhi to the town of Fazilka in Punjab.
The script was created by Singh and produced by Sudip Sharma, who was
influenced by several real-life honor killing incidents. The soundtrack albums
were written by Sanjeev-Darshan, Bann Chakraborty, Abhiruchi Chand, Ayush
Shrestha, Savera Mehta and Samira Koppikar. Arbind Kannabiran acted as the
director and Jabeen Merchant was the editor of the script.
NH10 was initially supposed to be released on 6 March 2015, but was delayed
because it had not been certified by the Indian Central Board of Film
Certification. A positive critical praise was given theatrically on 13 March
2015. The film went on to become a surprise success, collecting more than 32
crore (US$ 4.5 million) net at the box office. It was reconstructed in Tamil
as Garjanai as of June 2018.
