The accused was killed in a gunfight in Gazipur. In 14 cases of arms, drugs and murder, the accused was killed in a RAB-1 gunfight in Pubail, Gazipur City Corporation. The deceased was identified as Rabiul Islam, aka Rabu, the son of Manik Miah of Pubail.

RAB-1 Deputy Director. Kamruzzaman said that while they were on patrol at midnight on Sunday, they came to know that there were some drug dealers in the Satpoya area of Pubail. Later, when the RAB patrol team started the operation, the drug dealers fired at the RAB members, sensing the presence of the RAB. At that time, RAB fired back, too .Kamruzzaman, a member of the RAB, was wounded in the fire and Rabiul Islam was shot and fell to the ground. Others have fled.

The wounded Rabiul was later taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. Two foreign pistols, one-shooter gun, ammunition, and a large amount of yaba were recovered from the scene. According to the RAB, there are 14 cases against Rabiul Islam in various Gazipur police stations, including murder, drugs and weapons.
